What eduStream can and can't do
eduStream can provide:
- an audio recording of a lecture, which students
can access as many times as they need to during
session
- PowerPoint slides
- a visual recording from a document camera as
the lecturer places books or objects, writes on
transparencies or points to diagrams on the camera
(some venues only)
- 24 hour, 7 days a week access for students
with the Internet at home
- access during opening hours for students using
the computer labs at Wollongong or the regional
Education Access Centres.
eduStream can’t provide:
- two-way communication
- synchronous lectures, where students to listen
to the lecture at the same time as it is given
(eduStream lectures are available later, usually
next day)
- a way of recording what is written on the whiteboard
or blackboard (at present).
Many of the facilities not provided by eduStream
are available for smaller classes by using video-conferencing.
Please contact the CEDIR Audio Visual unit on x
3930 if you are interested in video-conferencing
rather than eduStream. eduStream can be used to
record videoconferences for post hoc use.
