What should I tell the students?
Students using eduStream to access their lectures
will need to learn to use the technology as early
in the session as possible. Otherwise, they may
fall behind with their lectures and find it hard
to catch up.
You can assist students by:
- using a SOLS announcement to let them know
about eduStream (see sample in Appendix A)
- include a ‘Learning with eduStream’
statement in the subject outline (a sample statement
is provided in Appendix C)
n including a brief segment on eduStream as part
of their induction day or in the first tutorial
(please ask CEDIR for a set of presentation slides
if this is needed)
- including a link to the eduStream page on the
WebCT site for the subject (if only some students
are to be given access, you can use WebCT’s
conditional release facility). This link will
be emailed to you by CEDIR
- letting students know the location of online
resources to help them get started with eduStream
(see below)
- making sure tutors are competent with eduStream
so they can assist students
- encouraging students to use eduStream at home
as well as at the computer labs
- following up with an email to students early
in session, to check whether any have particular
difficulties.
Students with technical questions should refer
to the online resources. These are available at:
http://cedir.uow.edu.au/edustream/student/
If they are still experiencing difficulties, they
can email edustream@uow.edu.au.
